Sharni Vinson made her debut as an actress in 2001, when she portrayed the role of a woman as a character in Home and Away, a soap-opera in Australia. Her performance in that limited role was so fascinating that the agent who cast the show wanted her to be cast in the principal characters in the show. The actress auditioned but did not get the role. In the same episode Cassie Turner was chosen in the role of the troubled teenager who was in foster care.
